Stabilizer for metal pigment in powder coatings
K5501 is a micronized stabilizer for metallic pigments, especially aluminum powder, capable of preventing effectively degradation arising from oxygen or moisture to inhibiting surface defects such as blackening, darkening, spots formation and loss of brilliance in appearance of metallic effect powder coatings.

2.Characteristics
K5501 is recommended as a stabilizer, combined with some metallic pigments, especially, aluminum powder including leaf or non-leaf, to use in metallic effect powder coatings based on: Polyester/TGIC/HAA, hybrid, PU and epoxy.
3.Use method & levels
- Firstly, prepare an appropriate base coating powder followed by incorporating K5501 into the said powder, then dry blending using a proper mixer.
- 2-3% based on total formulation by weight.
4.Package & Storage
- Packaging with PE lined Kraft paper bag. Net weight 25kg per bag.
- Store in temperature between 2 and 32℃ or cool dry place to avoid caking. Keep package closed after using. Keep away from fire.
- Based on our experience the shelf life of this product under above conditions is at least 3 years.
