Curing Accelerator for powder coatings

KA 316 is a special quaternary ammonium compound that can be used as curing accelerator for powder coatings based on Epoxy, Epoxy/Polyester hybrid and Polyester/TGIC to improve curing performance. It may also be used as internal catalyst for carboxyl terminated polyester resin to provide lower cure temperature or shorter baking time.

2.Characteristics

1. Impart better catalytic activity and thermal stability when compared the quaternary ammonium salt compounds now widely used.
2. Unlike the quaternary ammonium salt compounds now widely used, its handling is more easily because this product is free flowing, non-hygroscopic crystalline solid.

3.Use method & levels

1. When used as curing accelerator, K316 is premixed with other components of the formulation before extrusion. When used as internal catalyst, K316 is added into the molten polyester resin in reactor before discharging.
2. The use level is 0.1-0.5% by total weights of formulation.

4.Package & Storage

1. Package with PE lined fiber drums. Net weight 20kg per drum.
2. Store in temperature between 2 and 32℃ or cool dry place to avoid wetting-absorption and caking. Keep package closed after using. Keep away from fire.
3. Based on our experience the shelf life of this product under above conditions is at least 3 years.
