Hardener for Epoxy powder coatings

K31 is 2-phenyl imidazoline, which can be used as an epoxy resin hardener or an accelerator for powder coatings.

2.Characteristics

1. When used as main hardener for epoxy resin powder coatings, the system can achieve fully cross-linkage at low temperature or expedite curing conditions such as 140℃/30 min or 240℃/30 sec;
2. As an accelerator, it can reduce curing temperature or shorten curing time of epoxy powder coatings by replacing a part of dicyandiamide or substituted dicyandiamide in formulations.

3.Use method & levels

1. Premix K31 together with other components in a high-speed mixer, then melt blend and extrude the mixture in an extruder.
2. As main hardener, the use level is 6-7 parts per 100 parts of epoxy resin (E.E.W 700~900) by weight.
3. As an accelerator, the use level is 0.2 -0.5% based on total weight of formula.

4.Package & Storage

1. Packaging with PE lined fiber drums. Net weight 25kg per drum.
2. Store in cool and dry place to avoid wetting-absorption. Keep package closed after using. Keep away from fire.
3. Based on our experience the shelf life of K31 under above conditions is at least 2 years.
