Matting agent for durable carboxyl functional polyester powder coatings

K550 is a glycidyl containing solid acrylic resin designed for applying in exterior durable carboxyl functional polyester powder coatings to provide low gloss of 5 to 70% and excellent weather-resistance.

2.Characteristics

1. K550 can be mixed with various carboxyl functional polyester resins to formulate matte, one shot, and exterior durable polyester powder coatings with low gloss of 5 -70%.
2. The gloss can be adjusted by replacing part of K550 with TGIC or HAA .
3. Some cure catalysts such as 2-phenyl-imidazoline and quaternary ammonium salts may improve coating mechanical/surface performance in K550 system.

3.Use method & levels

1. Premix K550 with other components of the formulation before extrusion.
2. Recommend to design formulation by weight parts of 75/25 [resin to K550] for pure polyester resin with AV ca.34mg KOH/g.

4.Package & Storage

1. Packaging with PE lined Kraft paper bags. Net weight 25kg per bag.
2. Store in temperature between 2 and 32℃ or cool dry place to avoid caking. Keep package closed after using. Keep away from fire.
3. Based on our experience the shelf life of this product under above conditions is at least 3 years.
